You know what they say…

All good things must come to an end.

The back story…

July 2009

Zanzo Launch Party - Upstairs at 152 Collins St.

This is where it began. 2 fresh-faced mates (supported by their hot wives) decided to start a photography studio in the middle of the GFC. Good timing kids! It didn’t matter though cause we were filled with enthusiasm and ideas and passion and thought it would be fun!

and it was 😋

Dean (me) got to hang out with the kids and families and Dan did the grown up stuff like shooting weddings. We started and sold Tassie’s first Photo Booth hire business, won lots of photography awards, played a bit of studio cricket and basically had a great time.

This was her idea

Fast forward 15 years and Dan has moved on, a few AMAZING team members had also come and gone and Zanzo had evolved away from wedding photography and into Hobart’s premiere people and pet studio. (that’s what I reckon anyway 😜)

For the last 15 years I’ve come to this place every work day… that’s about 3500 days. I know what you’re thinking…”That’s alot of trips up those stairs!” Yes, you’re correct. But, totally worth it 🤗

Why? Well because I friggin love it! I get to hang out with people who have taken the time out of their busy lives to celebrate what it means to be a family. What it means to be THEIR family and themselves. What it means to have your first baby snuggles, or watch those first steps, or that first gappy smile or a big stacks-on family cuddle… all of these are just some examples of some of the cherished memories I’ve had the privilidge to share with you… my beloved clients 😍

So thank you. 🙏🏼

After reflecting on my time here, I’ve realised the best thing, like, the absolute BEST thing about getting to photograph families like yours for the last 15 years here at 152 Collins St, is the privilege of witnessing how the little personalities and family dynamics change over the years 😍

That moment I get when I see a previous client’s name pop up in my diary again, I get an extra little butterfly of excitement because I can’t wait to see the changes and hear about what new life stories you’ve collected.

If you’re anything like me you would have noticed how much life has changed over the years. How kids seem to grow in the blink of an eye! It’s crazy. My ‘baby’ has turned 13 and my first born (the upside down one) is now driving 😬!!

I’m acutely aware of how precious every moment we have together is because I see it every day! 😍

So… the news…

We’ll be closing the doors @ 152 Collins St on August 22nd.

No, I’m not sick or retiring (although I am getting older!). The current lease is expiring and rather than stay on (at double the rent 🙄) we have an exciting move happening…. more on that another time…

I just wanted to let you know there is only a short amount of time to guarantee your next visit to the studio at 152 Collins St.

Those beautiful windows and that famous (not so beautiful anymore) white couch will NOT be moving with me SO If you are due for a return visit, (maybe we can re-create your favourite picture from last time?) or if you’ve never managed to come in for a shoot but always wanted to, this is likely your last chance to do so in what has always been the Zanzo Studio.

Would you like a Zanzo visit soon? 📸

Book yourself in the 1st Step: your planning appointment, and we’ll make it happen!...🥳

Can't wait to see you soon!! 😍

Oh and note that we WILL be here for the July school holidays so if that sounds like a good time for you get in quick before those time slots run out!

Dean xx
