Photographing this project was so much fun! Every Toddler featured was encouraged to just be themselves and have a great time in the studio which is why they all look so natural!

They pretty much all brought along their brothers and sisters, parents or grandparents and even their pets so they could make the most of the opportunity of some Zanzo time. As well as being in the book, many of them bought some awesome new artwork for the walls at home like this…

Some are energetic, some are timid at first, some are curious, some a super cuddly and some are just downright CRAZY but the one thing we always hear is how much our clients love the results we make for them!

FAQ: 

What is this “TODDLERS” project all about?  We love kids. They are sooooo much fun to photograph both on their own and in the context of their families. At this age (sitting to 4 years old) they are often raw and unguarded, unpredictable and just super fun really. We thought why not take on what some people might think is a CRAZY idea and make a book showcasing the most notoriously difficult demographic we can think of? … Still not sure it’s a great idea but we’re strapped in a ready for the ride!

We are all about photographing people and their pets in a way that represents who they are without the confines of 'perfect posing'. This often means shoots can get a little bit hectic - never more so than when toddlers are involved. This isn't a daunting prospect for us though - it’s actually super fun! We are donating all the participation fees with the aim to raise $3,000 for the saving the actual Tassie Devils.

What is in it for me? Your $50 participation fee is a direct donation to help raise much needed funds for the Save the Tasmanian Devil Program. You will also have (at least) 1 image of your Toddler in the book, you’ll have a series of priceless portraits made by one of Tasmania’s premier portrait artists, AND you’ll also have the opportunity to purchase photographs from your photography session and get some amazing wall art for your home. Additional costs are very likely - if you love the images we make for you, you’ll probably want to buy them! Doing so isn’t compulsory though. We can chat more about this at your obligation-free planning appointment which is the first step to getting involved.

When can we have the shoot? During normal studio operating hours: Monday - Friday, 9:30-5:00 or so. REALLY importantly, we’ll schedule your shoot for the most predictably happy time of day for your toddler i.e not crashing into nap time 😜. We also have a couple of after hours sessions each week to try and make it easier for everyone to get along. If you would like our school holiday sessions times best get in quick - they book out super fast! First step is your planning appointment where we get to meet you and find out a bit more about the personalities in your family. You also get a chance to have a look through the studio and ask any questions you might have. This means on the day of the shoot you’ll all be super relaxed.🙂

Who is the photographer? Dean Mansbridge is the owner here at Zanzo and will be your photographer. He's long been known as a 'child whisperer' for his innate ability to make BFFs with pretty much every child that comes to visit the studio. He's pretty handy with pups too. The pet focused project - POOCH! won an International Gold award and the best Not-for-Profit calendar at the World Calendar Awards. It also raised over $4000 for Brightside Farm Sanctuary. We’re a little bit proud of that!

Can I have all the family photographed?  Absolutely! We will be happy to photograph the whole family at no extra cost, we recommend you take full advantage of the photography session. More pets or more people = More fun for all of us!

Can I purchase photographs? Yes, of course we will give you the opportunity to purchase photographs. Chances are we’ll make heaps of great images at your shoot to try and get a single great image for the Book… Personalised, photographic wall art of your family would make an AWESOME addition to your home. At your planning appointment (before the actual photography session) we'll discuss all of our products and pricing with you to figure out what might suit you best. Will my photograph definitely be in the book? Yes! All those who pay their participation fee, are photographed (obviously), and return for their slideshow presentation/ordering appointment will be in the book. 🙌

Do I get to choose the photograph to be included? Our graphic designer gets the final say in which images go into the book, but they will choose from YOUR list of favourites which you will create at your ordering appointment. This just ensures that the design of the book is balanced.

When will the book be available for purchase? We expect that this project will be finished in time for Christmas presents so let’s cross our fingers for November 2021. We will keep in touch with all participants to let them know where we are up to in the design and publishing cycle.

How much will the actual book cost? Gotta be honest… we’ve never done this project before so there are a few unknowns… It will really depend on how many pre-sales we get. Like most things, they become cheaper the more you buy. Probably somewhere between $85-$125.

Note - if you are under the age of 18 you must find an adult to apply for you and they must be present at all of your appointments.
