FAQ:
What is this “Oodles of Oodles” project all about? We love dogs. They are sooooo much fun to photograph both on their own and in the context of their families. Due do popular demand and a sell out project last time we did something like this, we thought ‘why not do something similar but even more awesome?"‘ Making a book full of Tassies most loved Oodles is gonna be a whole lot of fun!
We are all about photographing people and their pets in a way that represents who they are without the confines or 'perfect posing'. This often means shoots can get a little bit hectic - never more so than when dogs are involved. This isn't a daunting prospect for us though - it’s actually super fun! We are donating all the participation fees with the aim to raise $3,000 for the Dogs’ Homes of Tasmania.
What is in it for me? Your $50 participation fee is a direct donation to help raise much needed funds for Dogs’ Homes of Tasmania.. You will also have at least 1 image of your fur baby feature in the book, you’ll have a series of priceless portraits made by one of Tasmania’s premier portrait artists, AND you’ll also have the opportunity to purchase photographs from your photography session and get some amazing wall art for your home. Additional costs likely - if you love the images we make for you, you’ll probably want to buy them! Doing so isn’t compulsory though. We can chat more about this at your obligation-free planning appointment which is the first step to getting involved. 🙌🏼
When can we have the shoot? During normal studio operating hours: Monday - Friday, 9:30-5:00 or so. We also have a couple of after hours sessions each week to try and make it easier for everyone to get along. We may offer some super limited Saturdays spots too 🤞🏼. If you would like our school holiday sessions times best get in quick - they book out super fast! The first step is your planning appointment where we get to meet you and find out a bit more about the personalities in your family. You also get a chance to have a look through the studio and ask any questions you might have. This means on the day of the shoot you’ll all be super relaxed.🙂
Who is the photographer? Dean Mansbridge is the owner here at Zanzo and will be your photographer. He's long been known as a 'child whisperer' for his innate ability to make BFFs with pretty much every child that comes to visit the studio. He's pretty handy with pups too. His previous pet focused project - POOCH! won an International Gold award and the best Not-for-Profit calendar at the World Calendar Awards. It also raised over $4000 for Brightside Farm Sanctuary. He’s a little bit proud of that! He’s also made 2 editions on the POOCH PACK Playing cards and a name inspo book called abcDog raising over $10000 for other local charities.
Can I have all the family photographed? Absolutely! We will be happy to photograph the whole family at no extra cost, we recommend you take full advantage of the photography session. More pets or more people = More fun for everyone! Oh and if you have a non-oodle (that’s a hard word to read) in the fam they can come along too…but won’t be in the book.
Can I purchase photographs? Yes, of course we will give you the opportunity to purchase photographs. Chances are we’ll make heaps of great images at your shoot to try and get a single great image for the book… Personalised, photographic wall art of your fur baby would make an AWESOME addition to your home. At your planning appointment (before the actual photography session) we'll discuss all of our products and pricing with you to figure out what might suit you best. There is more info about this on our general FAQ page. As a rough guide, our happiest clients tend to spend between $1500-3k and purchase a mixture of beautiful wall art, small prints, designer albums and digital versions to share with friends and family. We have super flexible payment options to make sure it’s super easy to get exactly what you want our of your experience. 🤗
Will my photograph definitely be in the book? Yes! All those who pay their participation fee, are photographed (obviously), and return for their slideshow presentation/ordering appointment will be in the book but it is limited obviously to how many we can get in there without it feeling too crowded. First in, best dressed!
Do I get to choose the photograph to be included? Our Design Team gets the final say in which image goes into the book, but they’ll choose from YOUR list of favourites which you will create at your ordering appointment. This just ensures that the design of the book is balanced.
How much will the actual book cost? Gotta be honest… that’s a bit unknown - last time we did a project like this managed to get the cost down in $85 per book but this is based on volume. Like most things, they become cheaper the more you buy. Probably somewhere between $60-$100.
Note - if you are under the age of 18 you must find an adult to apply for you and they must be present at all of your appointments.
